The above picture is of David which is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture sculpted by Michelangelo from 1501 to 1504. The 5.17 meter (17 ft) marble statue portrays the Biblical King David in the nude. Unlike previous depictions of David which portray the hero after his victory over Goliath, Below is a photo of Michelangelo's famous statue of David.
Italian government authorities very graciously consented to lend it for a tour of the USA, where thousands stood in line for hours and paid a fairly good sum for a ticket to view the famous sculpture. After the tour, the statue was, of course, returned to its original and rightful place in Italy. After a two-year visit to the United States,
Michelangelo's David returned as in the picture below.
